ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Islamabad and most parts of Pakistan during the next two days.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad and most parts of the country on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday.
Freezing weather will likely persist in northern areas of the country and north Balochistan.
Dense fog/smog will likely prevail in Islamabad, Potohar region, and plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
Day temperatures will likely remain 05-07 degrees Celsius below normal due to less sunshine in fog affected areas.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02-04 C on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, foggy weather and cold wave persisted in Islamabad and parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours.
Freezing weather prevailed in northern areas and north Balochistan.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 12 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 01 C.
Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 91 per cent.
Dense fog/smog prevailed in Islamabad, Potohar region, and plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
Dense fog/smog forced the closure of Motorways and disrupted traffic on the National Highway and other inter and intra-city roads.
