ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the prevailing cold wave and foggy weather to persist in Islamabad and parts of Pakistan during the next two days.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad and most parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night, Monday and Tuesday.
Freezing weather is expected in northern areas of the country and north Balochistan.
Dense fog/smog will likely persist in Islamabad, plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
Frost is likely to prevail at isolated places in Kashmir during morning hours.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02-04 degrees Celsius on Monday and 03-05 C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a cold wave prevailed in Islamabad and most parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours.
Freezing weather prevailed in northern areas and north Balochistan.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 12 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 03 C.
Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 93 per cent.
Dense fog/smog prevailed in Islamabad, plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
Dense fog/smog forced the closure of Motorways and disrupted traffic on the National Highway and other inter and intra-city roads.
