The Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Saturday vehemently condemned the petrol bomb attack on the election office located in NA-127, a constituency from where its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is contesting elections.
The PPP leader also expressed strong disapproval for the actions of Lahore Police in response to the incident.
“Nawaz Sharif orchestrated the attack on the election office of PPP candidate Manzar Abbas Khokhar in PP-162,” said the leaders, criticizing the police for not nabbing those behind it.
“It happened just because of the rising popularity of the PPP in the constituency,” said the PPP leaders while addressing a gathering in the PP-162. Shehla Raza, Chaudhary Aslam Gill, Mian Misbahur Rehman and Faisal Mir were the prominent leaders.
Zulfiqar Badar and former Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar were also present there.
“Nawaz Sharif’s residences in Model Town and Jati Umrah if the PML-N restores to similar attacks in future,” they warned.
They also alleged that the PML-N was deliberately destabilizing the constituency to postpone the elections, making it clear that any future attacks on the PPP offices or workers would result in the filing of FIRs against Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.
“The culprits responsible for the petrol bomb attack on the election office of the PPP candidate in Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s constituency are still at large,” they further said.
Criticizing the police, the PPP leader said that the ‘lackluster response’ from the police indicated the potential collaboration with external forces putting pressure on the party.
They demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan and the Punjab police chief to promptly investigate and expose the hidden elements behind this sinister conspiracy, arguing that the assault on the election office in PP-162 constituted an evident attempt to undermine the electoral process in the constituency, reflecting the adversaries’ discomfort with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s growing public support.
On the other side, a case was registered by Kot Lakhpat against the unknown attackers over charges of throwing petrol bomb at the election office of the PPP leader in PP-162.
PPP candidate Manzar Abbas Khokhar’s son had lodged the FIR against then unknown individuals.
