Cold, dry weather expected in most plain areas of country

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country, while very cold in northern parts during the next twenty-four hours.

However, partly cloudy weather with rain/ snowfall over mountains is likely at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan. Dense fog and smog is likely to persist in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.

Frost is likely to occur at few places in Pothohar region during morning. Temperature of major cities recorded this morning: Islamabad and Murree two degree centigrade, Lahore six, Karachi eighteen, Peshawar four, Quetta and Muzafarabad three and Gilgit minus three degree centigrade.

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, very cold and dry weather is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Baramula while cold and dense fog in Jammu. Temperature recorded this morning. Srinagar, Shopian and Baramula minus-two degree centigrade, Jammu four, Leh minus-seven, Pulwama and Anantnag minus-three degree centigrade.—INP
