Chairman NAB assures FPCCI to review unnecessary cases

President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Atif Ikram Sheikh has apprised that in a high-profile, detailed and candid meeting with the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt Gen (Retd) Nazir Ahmed, over pending NAB cases.

Chairman NAB has, in principle, agreed that the business community should be facilitated and there should be no harassment of the trade & industry, he added. Atif Ikram Sheikh elaborated that Chairman NAB told us that, in order to alleviate the concerns of businessmen, he will get the review and reassessment of the pending National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases done pertaining to business community; and, all those cases which are not genuine, valid or are unnecessary will be dropped. The process is expected to complete quickly – i.e. within the next two months, he added.

It is pertinent to note that Husnain Ahmed, Director General Operations, NAB and Javed Akber Riaz, Director General, NAB Sindh, were also present on the occasion. Whereas, President FPCCI was accompanied by Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, SVP FPCCI;  Asif Inam, VP FPCCI; Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Mazhar Ali Nasir & Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, former SVPs FPCCI; Ahmed Chinoy and Mustafa Shekhani; among business community leaders.

Atif Ikram Sheikh maintained that business community is the most peaceful and law-abiding segment of the society as upholding law of the land as supreme is necessary to provide a conducive environment for business, commercial, industrial, trade and economic activities.
