Ambassador of Pakistan to the Netherlands Saljuq Mustansar Tarar called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman Saturday at the Governor’s House. During the meeting, Saljuq Mustansar Tarar informed Governor Punjab that Pakistan is fully supporting the case of South Africa against Israel in favor of the Palestinian people in the International Court of Justice.
Governor Punjab congratulated Saljuq Mustansar Tarar on being elected as the Chairman of the Conference of States of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. He said that the first ever Pakistani to be elected as the chairman of this conference is a matter of pride for the country. He said that trade relations with the Netherlands need to be further promoted. Governor Punjab appreciated the ambassador’s interest in art and asked him to be a part of as many forums as possible to highlight the soft image of Pakistan through art and literature.
Pakistani Ambassador Saljuq Mustansar Tarar said that Governor House Lahore is a heritage building. The way it has been preserved for the public and further improvements are being made is admirable. He also appreciated the initiative of giving full access to the public through organized tours in the Governor House. Saljuq Mustansar Tarar also showed keen interest in the artwork of Ustad Allah Bakhsh, Abdul Rahman Chaghatai, and Ustad Muhammad Sharif and appreciated the restoration of historic piano in the Governor House. On this occasion, Saljuq Mustansar Tarar presented his book “All That Art” and his father Mustansar Hussain Tarar’s book “Pyar Ka Pehla Punjab” to the Governor of Punjab. Governor Punjab gifted a book on Governor’s House by famous architect Yasmin Lari to Pakistani Ambassador to Netherlands Saljuq Mustansar Tarar.
