ISLAMABAD – In a major development, the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Executive Board, chaired by NAB Chairman, on Tuesday granted approval to close the investigation into the Sharif Trust case involving Sharifs’ family including PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif.
The decision was part of a crucial meeting where approval was granted to close six corruption cases.
The move marked a noteworthy development in the ongoing legal proceedings against the Sharif family.
The NAB’s decision also extended to closing the inquiry against Islamabad Inspector General (IG) Akbar Naseer Khan in connection with the Safe City corruption case.
The Executive Board meeting also addressed matters related to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), deciding to close the inquiry against CDA officers linked to the Park Enclave Housing Society.
Besides it, the board decided to conclude the inquiry into the hiring of individuals allegedly favored by the federal government officials.
In a parallel decision, the NAB has closed the inquiry against Shahid Malik and Shahbaz Yasin Malik in an approach scrutinizing cases involving the public figures.
