The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F on Saturday announced its candidates for both the provincial and national assemblies from Punjab for the upcoming general elections.
JUI-F Provincial Spokesperson Hafiz Ghazanfar Aziz said that a total of 53 candidates were fielded for the National Assembly while 138 candidates were set to contest for seats in the Provincial Assembly. The list also included six women candidates for general seats and three women candidates for reserved seats.
According to the list issued by the JUI-F for its candidates, Key nominations included Hafiz Naseer Ahmed Ahraar for PP-171 Lahore, Hafiz Ghazanfar Aziz for NA-128 Lahore, and Maulana Saafiullah for NA-92. Zia-ul-Rahman Amazai is nominated for NA-56 and PP-16 while Rao Abdul Qayyum is set to contest from NA-82.
The other prominent nominations included Saleemullah Qadri for NA-130, Abdul Wadood Azad for NA-175, Sajjad Venus for NA-148, and Muhammad Safdar Shahbaz for NA-165, 167, 168, and PP-254.
For NA-118 and PP-148, Muhammad Afzal Khan is the nominated candidate, Saif-ur-Rehman Rashidi for NA-166, Khawaja Mudassar Mahmood Taunsvi for NA-183 Tuonsa, and Qari Ibrahim for PP-1 Attock.
In another set of nominations, Maulana Yahya Abbasi is set to contest from NA-176 and PP-273, Maulana Madsar Irfan from PP-288, Abdullah Fahad Langrial from PP-272, and Maulana Zia-ul-Rahman Darkhawsti from PP-258.
