As the third phase of general elections is underway, election appellate tribunal given relief to two Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) potential candidates from Attock on Thursday. The candidates- mother and daughter belong to political heavy weight family of Attock have filed their nomination papers on national as well as provincial assembly constituencies of the district.
Secretary information of PTI district Attock chapter Imran Khan Hazrovi while talking to media persons on Thursday has said that the nomination papers of Naz Thair- wife of former member national assembly Major (retd) Tahir Sadiq and EmanThair-daughter of MrSadiq has accepted. MsNaz is sister of former Prime Minister Ch Shujjat Hussain. Mr Hazrovi informed that an election appellate tribunal on Thursday granting both candidates permission to contest the election declared RO’s verdict null and void.
He added that nomination papers of EmanTahir from national assembly constituency NA-50 Attock-II, nomination papers of NazTahir from provincial assembly constituency PP-2, Attock-II has accepted. It may be mentioned here that MsEman was eelier arrested outside Peshawar high court (PHC) when she appeared before court for extension of her transit bail in various cases registered against her family in Attock.
