KARACHI – The local gold market witnessed a significant rise as the per tola rate of 24-karat gold surged by Rs 1600, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association said on Tuesday.
The price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold reached Rs 221,300 in the domestic market, marking a notable increase.
Silver prices, concurrently, also experienced an uptick, rising by Rs 1372 to Rs 189,729 for per tola and 10 grams.
Globally, the price of gold increased by $12 and reached $2094.
The spot gold exhibited a 0.6% rise, settling at $2,074.01 per ounce as of 0757 GMT.
Besides it, the US gold futures demonstrated a similar 0.6% gain, reaching $2,083.00 per ounce. In the broader market, spot silver observed a 1% increase, reaching $24.04, while palladium inched up by 0.2% to $1,100.90 per ounce.
