Former Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah says delay in elections will be a bad omen as it will embolden terrorists to silence the people.
He told media on Monday that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would emerge victorious in the Feb 8 elections. He said Bilawal Bhutto would become the prime minister as the rivals didn’t have candidates.
The political opponents were at daggers drawn over symbols. The PPP would spring a surprise on election day as its Sindh government served the masses during the last flood, he said.
He said the law and order situation had never been ideal and terrorism had raised its head again. He condemned attack on Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s convoy and recalled Benazir Bhutto was slain by terrorists.
It’s unfortunate, he said, that the PPP had been facing terror threat. The terrorists could not silence the people, he added. He said Sindh was for Sindhis, and those who defied the ethnic spirit had no place in the province. He said Bilawal was contesting the election from Lahore, Larkana and Qambar.
He said Bilawal’s worker would be fielded in Lyari and he would win. He said the PPP was popular in all the provinces.
