Punjab Governor Baligh ur Rehman said the creation of Pakistan is the joint struggle of then political parties.
Addressing a seminar titled Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan, role of minorities and the Christian community,” the governor said Pakistan was the achievement of not a single individual, party, sect but rather the unity of the minorities of the Subcontinent, faithful leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, All India Muslim League, All India Christian League Punjab, All India Christian Association (Punjab), and the All India Anglo Indian Association Punjab. The moot was organised by Mir Khalil-ur-Rehman Memorial Society (MKRMS) and Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society.
The Governor said Pakistan can make progress again if we get united anew and work hard for its development.
Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Quyyum Malik said Quaid-e-Azam wanted to create a country where minorities may also enjoy basic rights and national unity be promoted.
Health Minister Dr Jamal Nasir stressed the need of improving education, health, and economy for the progress of the country.
PESS Chief Organiaer and Media Adviser Aziz Ahmed Awan said our military institutions are working for the development and prosperity of the country in an exemplary way.
Air Vice Marshal (retd) Anwar Mehmood said Quaid-e-Azam’s priority was the rights of the minorities.
Air Commodore (retd) Khalid Chishti said Quaid-e-Azam was very strict in terms of following laws.
Senior journalist Sohail Warraich said Quaid-e-Azam never discriminated against religious minorities. He said Qauid-e-Azam always took care of women’s rights.
Senior journalist Wasif Nagi said the Quaid-e-Azam chairs should be established in educational institutions. He said PhD should also be conducted on the personality of Quaid-e-Azam and his teachings should be communicated to the youth. He emphasised the safety for the Christian community in the country.
