‘The Daughter of East’: Rich tributes paid to Benazir Bhutto on death anniversary

KARACHI – Pakistanis and people around the world commemorate indelible legacy of Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated in a Rawalpindi rally back on December 27, 2007.

Bhutto was remembered as the first democratically elected woman Prime Minister of Islamic nation as well as a respected politician as many called her ‘Daughter of the East’ for being a ‘symbol of nationalistic spirit, enduring struggle, and steadfast leadership.’

The tragic death of former Pakistani prime minister marked a turning point for politics in Asian nation.

The populist stateswoman was known for her persona popular as she wooed massive crowds.

As her assassination remains under wraps, activists, journalists, and social media users are paying tribute to her on 16th Death Anniversary.

PPP and Bhutto family organized public gathering in Larkana to mark the death anniversary of Benazir. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and other leaders will address the main event.
