LAHORE – Lahore Traffic Police have commenced another round of crackdown against violators of the helmet ban.

The immense exercise was started in Punjab capital as newly appointed Chief Traffic Officer Ammara Akhtar highlighted the positive impact of the helmet enforcement campaign.

CTO emphasized a major reduction in fatal accidents. In the press conference, the top traffic cop said over 2 million bikers violated helmet laws but mentioned a drop in death rate from 484 in 2022 to 387 this year.

She called the helmet enforcement campaign crucial in lessening burden on the country’s existing health system.

Despite the huge number of violators, CTO hailed that majority of people riding two wheelers are now wearing helmets.
