IG Punjab presided over meeting about development projects

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the Safe City projects under construction in Gujranwala, Faisalabad and other districts are equipped with local resources, software and latest technology, which play a key role in crime control, traffic management and security surveillance in these districts. Dr. Usman Anwar said that effective supervision should be ensured to complete these projects within the stipulated timeline.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said to ensure effective coordination with the district aadministration and government institutions for the construction of new police stations, acquisition of land in the relevant districts including Lahore.

In Lahore, land is being acquired for new police stations including Sherakot, Samanabad, other districts should select the suitable places for construction of new police stations and sent the list to the Central Police Office. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed all district traffic officers to self-supervise the process of issuing driving licenses and said that driving licenses should be issued to as many citizens as possible through effective coordination with PITB. IG Punjab further said that legal action should be taken against those guilty of violating traffic rules without discrimination, vehicles and motorcycles guilty of violating one way should be closed .

IG Punjab directed the officers to complete upgradation of all police stations to SIPS protocol by 31st December, e-tags must be issued and delay in registration of cases will be intolerable,He gave these instructions today while presiding over an important meeting about development projects at the Central Police Office. In the meeting, the progress of completed Safe City projects, land acquisition for construction of new police stations, transfer of police stations on Special Initiative Protocol was reviewed.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the supervisory officers should complete the construction and upgrading of all the police stations under personal supervision by providing modern resources.In the next phase, all traffic police offices, driving training centers are also being improved. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the work of upgradation of traffic police offices will be started soon and will be completed. CCPO Lahore, MD Safe City Authority, Chairman PITB, DIG Operations Lahore, SSP Operations Lahore, AIG Development, CTO Lahore were present in the meeting.

All RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province participated online.
