Sanam Javed, an incarcerated activist of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is set to participate in the upcoming general election against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif and the party’s chief organizer Maryam Nawaz.
Sanam Javed, along with other female PTI activists, currently faces charges related to the alleged attack on military installations, hurling petrol bombs outside PTI founder’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore, and other offenses. The announcement was made by Javed Iqbal, the father of the PTI activist, during a press conference in Lahore. Iqbal revealed that it took him seven days to secure the necessary signatures on the nomination papers for his daughter.
Meanwhile, the mother of the PTI worker expressed her intention to run the election campaign for her daughter. On December 2, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) approved the bail of PTI activist Sanam Javed in a case related to a police attack outside Zaman Park.
Details indicate that the ATC approved the bail plea of the PTI activist and directed her to submit a bail bond of Rs 200,000. During the court proceedings, the lawyer representing Sanam Javed stated that after obtaining bail in one case, the police arrested her in another case.
The lawyer requested the court to grant bail to Sanam Javed in the new case.
