ISLAMABAD – Embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said Imran Khan’s lawyer has gone missing soon after he went to Adiala Jail to get nomination papers signed by jailed leader.

PTI leaders took to social media and said Rai Muhammad Ali went inside the Adiala jail to get nomination papers signed but he never returned. His aides, who accompanied him during his visit to prison, were left waiting for him but they got no explanation from jail authorities.

Several posts were also shared online as a former ruling party leader decries crackdown against its candidates and its representatives getting detained during the process to file nomination papers.

A clip shared online shows Haider Ali Gill, son of former ticket holder Chaudhry Munawwar Gill, being held from RO office.

Furthermore, the action followed in Vehari, PP-234 where authorities held Zahid Iqbal’s lawyer Hammad Raza Jatt from RO office as he went to file the nomination papers.

Imran Khan remained in jail for about four months, but the incarcerated leader has decided to contest polls on multiple seats. PTI’s newly appointed Chairman Gohar Khan said Imran Khan will contest upcoming general elections from three constituencies.

In media talk outside Adiala Jail on Wednesday, Gohar Khan, and Barrister Ali Zafar said PTI Imran Khan wanted polls to be held on February 8 but called for a level playing field for all political parties. PTI chairman would contest elections from Lahore, Mianwali, and Islamabad.
