Silenced rights

I am writing this piece to express my deep concern about the escalating human rights violations that continue to plague the world. It is disheartening to witness numerous cases where individuals, communities and entire nations suffer as a result of violations of fundamental rights and freedoms.

Political instability, discrimination, harassment, conflict, etc., have an immense impact on people’s lives. These violations not only undermine the wellbeing of those directly affected, but also destroy the moral fabric of our international community. The principles of human rights are the foundation of our common humanity. It is alarming to see a world where these rights are not universally respected. We must remember that social progress is not measured solely by economic indicators, but by a commitment to justice, dignity and equality for all.

The role of media in highlighting these violations and blaming them cannot be overstated. We urge your publications to remain committed to investigative reporting and reporting on human rights abuses, giving voice to voiceless and raising awareness among our readers.

Avian slaughter

A tree without birds is like a tree without blossoms. Today I am writing to draw the attention of the government regarding a beautiful issue that is the killing of birds. As we know that birds are the beauty of nature but, unfortunately, they are being killed constantly in our country everywhere. It is a major cause that Pakistan is facing today. Every year, a substantial number of birds are being killed due to not having law enforcement. Pakistan has been highest reported worldwide regarding this paramount prevalent cause. Regrettably, yet the authorities have not taken any significant steps against this alarming matter. We need to understand that every life is the right to live in this world. Birds are from them. But unfortunately, they are being killed. Therefore, I earnestly request to the relevant authorities to take serious intonation on it and strive to solve it as soon as possible

Plastic pollution

Within the intricate mosaic of our planet, an ominous thread stealthily winds its way through the intricate balance of ecosystems — the spectre of plastic pollution. This silent intruder casts its shadow across oceans, rivers and the farthest reaches of our Earth, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape. In defiance of its disposable origins, plastic endures, transforming into a lasting reminder of our wasteful habits. The repercussions are profound, with marine life ensnared in its polymer clutches and ecosystems groaning under the burden of synthetic detritus.

Yet, in the midst of this ecological turmoil, a clarion call reverberates. It beckons us to reshape our dance with plastic, to forge sustainable alternatives and to nurture a shared awareness that honours the planet we inhabit. Confronting this plastic menace is not merely an environmental duty; it is a collective vow to reimaging our impact on the world and sow the seeds of a future where our every choice echoes a commitment to safeguard the Earth for generations yet unborn.

Vaping enigma

The phenomenon of vaping, involving the use of electronic cigarettes, has garnered increasing concern due to potential health risks and societal implications. The underlying factors contributing to the popularity of vaping are diverse, entwining elements of social, psychological and marketing realms. Notably, the magnetic appeal of flavoured e-liquids stands out, casting a spell on a younger demographic. The expansive array of flavours, spanning from fruity concoctions to dessert-inspired blends, creates an allure that surpasses that of traditional tobacco products. Furthermore, the prevailing perception that vaping represents a “safer” alternative to conventional cigarette smoking has enticed various individuals, including former smokers, to adopt this practice.

Social dynamics also come into play, as peer influence and the desire to conform contribute significantly to the widespread embrace of vaping within specific demographics. The strategic marketing efforts deployed by e-cigarette companies, particularly those targeting younger audience, intensify the prevalence of these devices. In essence, the causes of vaping form a complex tapestry, interwoven with nuances of product design, marketing strategies and societal influences. Unravelling and addressing these factors are imperative to curbing potential health consequences associated with vaping.
