Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad in Lahore on Monday.
The chief minister and the SBP governor exchanged views on the economic situation in the meeting. They also deliberated on the issues of the Bank of Punjab and Punjab Cooperative Bank.
CM Naqvi said that his government wants to achieve the goal of higher production by giving subsidies and easy loans to farmers. “It is necessary to minimize the financial burden on the small farmers for higher production,” the chief minister said. CM Naqvi was of the view that people would benefit from the improvement in economic activities in agriculture and other sectors. The record production of cotton in Punjab will save $2 billion in foreign exchange, he added.
