Out sourcing of underperforming resources like hotels and rest houses of Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) will help to attract investment in the tourism sector and improve quality of service by digitalization of business processes and inclusion of value-added services in hospitality sector in the province of Sindh. This was stated by the Minister for Tourism, Environment and Climate Change & Coastal Development, Government of Sindh, Arshad Wali Muhammad during the 42nd Meeting of Public Private Partnership, Policy Board, Finance Department, Government of Sindh, held at the Chief Minister House,.
The Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (Retired) Maqbol Baqir, approved for outsourcing of four properties through Public Private Partnership (PPP) Unit, Government of Sindh i. e, Keenjhar Lake Resort, Haleje Lake Resort, Ranikot guest house and Hawks Bay Resort, presently owned by the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation.
As part of a long-term strategy for the development and promotion of tourism in Sindh, additional properties of Sindh Tourism Development Corporation will be offered in the second Phase for outsourcing to encourage domestic and Foreign investment in the tourism sector and support development of tourism infrastructure in the province of Sindh.
It was highlighted that this initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Sindh will bring private sector investment, expertise, technology and additional facilities for tourists and will also create more jobs in the hospitality sector. The 24th Board Meeting of Public Private Partnership Unit, Government of Sindh was also attended by Khalid Chachar, Secretary Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Department, Government of Sindh and Feyaz Ali Shah Managing Director Sindh Tourism Development Corporation.
