ISLAMABAD- A special Court on Monday granted bail to former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhary in a corruption case.
The court passed the order after the Anti-Corruption officials produced Fawad Chaudhary before the court.
The court directed the former federal minister to deposit Rs200,000 as surety bond against his release in the case. The court also directed the Anti-Corruption officials to release Fawad Chaudhary.
It is worth noting that the Anti-Corruption Court, in a recent development, dismissed the request for the physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry last week. Instead, he was sent to jail on judicial remand in connection with a corruption case.
Following the completion of a one-day physical remand of the former federal minister by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Fawad Chaudhry was presented before the court for an extension of the physical remand.
After considering arguments from both sides, Senior Judge Ghulam Akbar declined the request for additional physical remand and directed Fawad Chaudhry to be placed in jail on judicial remand.
