Sindh Caretaker Minister for Information, Minority Affairs and Social Protection, president Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmad Shah today visited the 18th International Book Fair held at Expo Center Karachi, visited various book stalls and congratulated the book fair organizers and publishers for the great arrangement.
Talking to the media on this occasion, caretaker minister Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that organizing such a wonderful book fair in the era of high prices and inflation is highly commendable. Muhammad Ahmad Shah lauded the Publisher’s efforts and said that due to the high cost of paper printing becomes a difficult task. The courage of the publishers who are printing books in such miserable circumstances is commendable. It needs time to produce subsidies on paper. He said that steps have to be taken to publish and supply books based on the course, literature, civilization, culture, and history at an affordable price. The passion for reading books will end due to the high cost of the books.
Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that books and libraries are our cultural heritage; our civilization will be ruined if the practice of book reading ends. He said that the relationship between man and the book is very sacred and respectable. He said that it is the responsibility of governments to help publishers. In response to a question, he said that the caretaker Sindh government is fully prepared regarding the arrangements for the election.
He said that the rumors circulating regarding the election have died down and the confusion is now clear. He said that I completely believe in democracy and the democratic process. In response to a question, he said that the reservations of political parties have existed for 76 years, it can’t be ended. He said that now there is an election atmosphere, so rivals try to mess up.
