Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi has announced plans to establish an Information Technology (IT) Park in Karachi within the next six months. Moreover, special technology zones are slated to be instituted in the northern and southern districts of Karachi over the ensuing two years.
To inaugurate these initiatives, DHA organised a specialised IT seminar, titled “Tech Talk,” graced by the presence of Federal Minister for IT, Dr. Omar Saif. The event saw the participation of DHA Karachi’s Administrator and the Chancellor of the National Defence University, Professor Saeed Minaas, alongside prominent figures from the IT industry, including Muhammad Zahid Khan, Chairman of PASHA. Dr. Omar Saif underscored the transformative potential of IT sector endeavours, emphasising their capacity to fortify the national economy.
He noted that the establishment of the Pakistan Software Export Board marks a pivotal stride in the nation’s developmental trajectory. Additionally, Dr. Omar Saif highlighted the consequential role of the IT sector, with the creation of Special Technology Zones aligning with the digital vision spearheaded by military leadership.
He underscored the creation of a forum by the Pakistan Software Export Board, bringing military leadership and stakeholders onto a unified platform for concerted efforts towards the nation’s development.
