In a bid to protect the endangered Pheasant bird, a local organization working for environmental protection has announced the release of 5 pairs of Pheasant at Mount Tinglai. The announcement came during a meeting on environment protection held in Buffa Pakhal, Mansehra. Officials of the organization, members, hunters from other union councils, Deputy Ranger Tahir Usman, and block in-charge of the Wildlife Department participated in the meeting.

Environment Protection officials expressed concern over the declining population of Pheasant, Partridge, and Wild Rabbit in Mount Tinglai due to illegal hunting. They emphasized the importance of protecting these species and highlighted Pheasant’s significance as Pakistan’s national bird.

In the first phase, 5 pairs of Pheasant will be released in Mount Tinglai under the supervision of the Wildlife Department. The officials appealed to the community to refrain from hunting Pheasant for at least 3 years to ensure its survival.

DFO Mansehra was also invited to attend the event. Other participants included Master Sajjad Khan, Professor Hamid Khan, Abdul Aziz Khan, Iftikhar Khan, Akhtar Munir, and Sohail Khan from the organization.
