Population dynamics

In Pakistan, population is burgeoning rapidly at the growth rate of 2.55% annually and according to United Nations estimates, is ranked 5th most populated country in the world. Middle-class families having multiple children, later in life, had no choice but to be unable to nurture their children properly, to deprive them of right to education and to make them do hazardous labour work.

As saying goes, “for a nation, children are shining stars in the sky “ but in our sky, stars don’t shine anymore because it has clouded itself by labour work and scrounging. Reasons are pretty obvious because these families are unable to make ends meet let alone providing children with basic amenities. Implementing comprehensive family planning campaigns, tailored to specific regions, can play a pivotal role by raising awareness about contraceptive methods. Simultaneously, fostering gender equality empowers women to make informed decisions about their reproductive lives. Promoting widespread education and creating economic opportunities even further contribute to averting impending collision.

Clean Karachi now

I am writing to draw attention to pressing issues that demands immediate action. Deteriorating cleanliness in Karachi in past few years has worsened the situation that needs serious measures to address this problem on permanent basis.

Karachi’s littered streets, overflowing garbage bins and polluted waterways pose a significant threat to public health and environment. The mounting garbage crisis is a breeding ground for diseases such as dengue and typhoid, affecting lives of countless citizens. Moreover, adverse environmental impacts of this pollution are undeniable, from contaminated water sources to damaged eco-systems. To tackle this issue effectively, I urge local authorities to take immediate and comprehensive action. This should involve strengthening waste collection and disposal systems, ensuring regular and efficient waste management services across all neighbourhoods. Implementing awareness campaigns to educate citizens about importance of proper waste disposal and recycling. Enforcing strict penalties for littering and illegal dumping. Promoting community engagement by encouraging citizens to participate in clean-up drives and maintain public spaces.

Time has come to take a stand for a cleaner and healthier Karachi. It is not just the responsibility of government, it is a collective duty of all citizens. Let us work together to preserve beauty and well being of our city. A cleaner Karachi will not only enhance our quality of life but also contribute to a more sustainable future for all.

Pasni lacks basic amenities

I am writing to bring attention to pressing issues faced by residents of Pasni, a small town that is grappling with absence of essential facilities. It deeply saddens me to witness challenges that our fellow citizens endure on a daily basis due to absence of basic amenities such as hospitals, roads and proper education. Absence of a hospital means that residents are forced to travel long distances, often under difficult circumstances, to seek medical attention. This not only endangers lives but also creates immense stress for families already burdened by economic challenges. Furthermore, road conditions in Pasni are deplorable, making transportation a daunting task. This not only hampers economic growth but also isolates the town from opportunities that come with connectivity. Improved roads would not only facilitate movement of goods and services but also enhance overall quality of life for residents.

Education being cornerstone of progress is another area where Pasni is in dire need of support. Limited access to quality education hampers intellectual growth of our youth, limiting their potential and opportunities for future. List of challenges faced by Pasni does not end here. From inadequate sanitation facilities to lack of employment opportunities, residents of this town deserve better. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that every citizen, regardless of their geographical location, has access to basic necessities that can afford them a life of dignity and purpose.

Palestine and world

Palestine issue was sown in the soil when British seized the land after World War 1. The foreign secretary of the British government, James Arthur Balfour, made a declaration in 1917 that permitted the Jewish people to settle in Palestine with their own nationality. The declaration opened door for Jews to live in Palestine with their own nationality, ultimately compromising and subsequently suppressing rights of the Palestinians.

Balfour declaration carried a massive significance for Israel and a tipping point for the Palestinians to accomplish their freedom. James Arthur categorically favoured the Jewish nation and declared that Majesty’s government favours the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people. Resultantly, violence erupted in the Middle East, compelling British government to raise this issue in the UN to get it resolved. However, ultimate decision of UN favoured the Jewish, bifurcating the land and resulting in the state of Israel. United Nations ignored the natives of Palestine, and gave 52% of land to foreign residents, namely Jewish. However, The Arabs and the Palestinians refused to accept the UN partition decision. The fought a number of wars, albeit unsuccessful, resulting in copious amount of casualties. Furthermore, the fact cannot be shunned that the Arab-Israel conflict did not begin with the Hamas recent raid. For decades, Palestinians have faced death, humiliation and usurpation of their ancestral land on a daily basis. Since Israel began its blatant genocide of occupied Gaza almost a month ago, Palestinians in Gaza have been deprived of food, water and medicine. Undeniably, Israel’s Draconian approach and mentality have devoured spate of lives of Palestinians. Hence, it is need of the time to settle the issue with negotiation. Nevertheless, such a blatant genocide is popping the question among people about efficiency and neutrality of the UN charter of human rights.
