1,255 children kidnapped during 2023: NGO

An alarming increase has been noticed in the incidents of kidnappings and mysterious disappearances of children in Karachi.As per the statistics gathered by Roshni Helpline, a non-governmentalorganization (NGO), 1, 255 children went missing during the ongoingyear, 2023.

Of these 1,255 children, over 950 were recovered while over 250 arestill missing.According to the NGO, 15 children, who had gone missing this year, wereunder five years of age, while 34 children were between six and 10 yearsof age.Roshni Helpline informs that 108 children were between 11 and 15 yearsof age.

The NGO says that 165 children were either kidnapped or disappeared inSeptember alone.
