Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Saturday again rapped the Pakistan Muslim League-N supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif for promoting the politics of hatred and revenge saying he now wanted to come to power through selection for the fourth time.
The former Foreign Minister in the Shahbaz Sharif led coalition government also questioned the impartiality of the Anwaarul Haq kakar led caretaker setup which he said mostly comprised Leaguers or PML-N sympathizers.
“Earlier too, Raiwandwala has become the prime minister three times through selection and now wants to be selected for the fourth time. But I must make it clear to everybody that if he (Nawaz) comes to power through selection, neither the public nor will l accept the results. I have been and will resist every selected ruler,” Bilawal said while addressing PPP’s workers’ convention in Timergara, Lower Dir district, as part of his election campaign. Coming hard on his one time ally PML-N, Bilawal said the Sharifs have always promoted the politics of hatred and revenge and now planning to come to the power through the same tactics reiterating his demand that Nawaz must quit the politics and stay home leaving ground for the young, energetic and honest people.
“Those came to power through selection did nothing for the people during their three tenures, what will they deliver this time even becoming Prime Minister through selection”. The PPP chairman said adding “Mian sahib you have come to the power three times via ‘selection’. At least be ‘elected’ for your fourth tenure”.
Calling on Nawaz to indulge in the politics that respects the sanctity of the vote and does not insult it, the former foreign minister declared that he along with the people of Pakistan will accept the PML-N Supremo as the country’s premier if he comes to power “via election and not selection”.
He while referring to the Nawaz league said the politics of division and hatred is on the rise in Pakistan and one party intends to take revenge by winning the elections. Bilawal said Nawaz was “selected” via the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad and the Nawaz-led political alliance formed against the PPP’s Benazir Bhutto-led government in 1988. “In his second term, Mian sahib wanted to become amir ul momineen”. Taking a dig at Nawaz’s ouster as the country’s premier on all three occasions, Bilawal said that even in his third term, the PML-N Supremo locked horns with the “same people” who did him “favors”.
He said Mian sahib, after his third ouster, started complaining ‘mujhay kyun nikala?’ yet eventually landed in Avenfield apartments seemingly to bring a revolution adding Mian Nawaz Sharif was facilitated to hold a mass public gathering upon his return, but he did the same what he has been doing all these years.
Accusing the Caretaker government of meting special treatment one party, Bilawal said other parties were being denied level playing field saying PML affiliates and sympathizers are sitting in the caretaker setup as well as in bureaucracy and other key positions.
PPP chairman also questioned the proposed privatization of the national flag career PIA apprehending that a very special person from the PML form part of the privatization commission with the aim to dole out the company to the Shreefs.
