National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has reiterated the party’s resolve to fight for the restoration of abridged democratic rights of the people occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Omar Abdullah addressing party workers’ convention in Tral, Pulwama district, said that he was fighting for the people of Kashmir and had no intention of running for any office. “Where is the promised development, where are the jobs?” Omar asked, challenging the BharatiyaJanata Party’s development promises after the revocation of Article 370. He said far from delivering on their claims, the ruling BJP government has plunged people of Kashmir into an abyss of hopelessness. “Our Gujjar brothers are being denied rights over forests.—INP
