National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) organized a focused talk on the ‘Indian Kashmir Policy – Implications and Way Forward’ at NIMA Islamabad on 01 Dec 23.
Former Chief of the Naval Staff & Chairman NIMA BoA, Admiral (Retd) Muhammad Zakaullah graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He said that Kashmir issue is unfinished agenda of partition of 1947 whereas India has continuously disregarded its own commitments to international community for plebiscite under UN arrangements.
He further reiterated that Kashmir is an inalienable part of our body and soul.
Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights & Women Empowerment Ms. Mushaal Hussein Mullick was guest of honor. She elucidated that the plebiscite in accordance with UN resolutions is the only way forward.
She also highlighted that Pakistan needs to unveil human right atrocities and international laws violations being committed by India. She further elaborated the need to guard against Indian agenda of changing the demography of Indian occupied Kashmir and suggested to hold census on both sides of divide under UN arrangements.
Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed, DG NIMA in his welcome remarks stated that Kashmir is the core issue between India and Pakistan.
Post 2019 annulment of Article-370 & 35-A, Indian Government is systemically destroying Kashmiri identity and culture.
During the discussions, prominent speakers shed light on the current situation of Kashmir. Dr. Adam Saud, Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali and Ambassador (Retd) NadeemRiyaz underscored the need of developing a strong narrative unveiling the true face of BJP Government and Hindutva ideology.
They emphasized effective diplomatic & media campaigns to mobilize the international community on Kashmir crisis.
The focused talk was attended by ambassadors, analysts, academia, media representatives, think tanks, students and faculty of universities.
