Girl student dies, 10 injured as trailer smashes school van

A teen girl student died and several others were injured when a speeding trailer smashed a carry van of school children on Shergarh Road in Renala Khurd on Wednesday morning. According to rescue officials, as many as 10 people including nine children were injured in the accident while two of the students were said to be in critical condition.

On receiving information, the rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured children to a hospital for medical treatment. The girl who died in the accident was identified as 16-year-old Aarzoo. Among the injured were 18-year-old Saima, 17-year-old Sawira, 16-year-old Sabika, 20-year-old Faiza and 15-year-old Faizan.—INP
