LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall of varying intensities with isolated hailstorm for Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday night and the following day.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorm with hailstorm at isolated places is likely in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Hafizabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Khushab, Toba Tek Singh, Okara and Kasur on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Smog/fog is likely to persist in Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings during morning hours.
In Lahore, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 12-14 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 10-12 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Murree remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped to 05 C.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 12 C.
Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 89 per cent.
