Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather update; scattered rains forecast

PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall of varying intensities for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday evening/night and the following two days.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Manshera, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mardan, Haripur, Peshawar, Kohat, Kurrum, Bannu and Waziristan on Wednesday evening/night and the next two days.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 06-08 C on Friday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Malam Jabba remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 01 C.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 93 per cent.
