The drug mafia working under the patronage of Indian army deployed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has turned the territory in particular the Kashmir Valley into a drug den with increasing number of young people falling into the trap with each passing day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, mostly the drugs including charas, ganja, Cocaine, heroin, corex and Crack Cocaine in substance and injection is speared and encouraged by the Indian army and their agencies who are working in collusion with drug mafia and Hindutva forces to ravage the Valley’s youth.

Besides inflicting atrocities on the Kashmiris on daily basis during house raids, detentions and harassment, the IIOJK youth, facing economic and employment problems due to Modi regime’s anti-people policies, are lured through different tactics to take drugs with the aim of ruining the Kashmiri society.

A court in Srinagar during a hearing on use of drugs by young people in the Kashmir Valley also admitted that the menace is spreading fast in the society.

Earlier, Dr Yasir Rather, a psychiatrist and professor at Srinagar-based Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS), said, “Until a decade ago, we used to see 10-15 cases of drug addiction per day at our hospital. Now we see 150-200 cases a day. This is alarming”.—KMS
