Gul Hamad Farooqi CHITRAL
Sifat Gul, a brave woman hailing from Lower Chitral’s Garamchishma valley, has emerged as a beacon of hope and inspiration for both unedu-cated and educated women alike. Despite facing childhood obstacles that deprived her of formal education, Sifat Gul made a courageous decision to acquire various skills and become self-reliant, rather than becoming a burden on her family. Her determi-nation led her to enroll in a handicraft center, where she acquired a diverse range of skillsets. She trained 2800 girls areas with different skills and enabled them to gain their live hood.
After acquiring her skills, Sifat Gul established a handicraft center in her village, aiming to empower other girls and elderly women who, like her, were unable to pursue traditional education. Women and young girls from across the region flocked to her center, eager to learn and gain the means to support themselves and their families.
