Ex Nazim holds fruitful meeting with PML-N leadership

Former Nazim and a dedicated member of the Muslim League, Malik Iftikhar Awan, spoke to the media in Attock on Friday, detailing his recent interactions with former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in London. During these meetings, Malik Iftikhar Awan ex-pressed his commitment to the betterment of the party.

He disclosed that, upon the instructions of the party leadership, he had traveled to Lahore with his sup-porters and constituents to warmly welcome Mian Nawaz Sharif. Responding to various queries from the media, Malik Iftikhar Awan revealed his intention to contest the upcoming general elections for the position of MPA-3 in Attock. This decision came after he withdrew his British nationality, a move prompted by the persistent demands of the public in his constituency.

Addressing a news conference at a local hotel, Malik Iftikhar Awan emphasized that the PML-N leadership would nominate a candidate for PP-3 who has a strong chance of victory based on ground realities and the wishes of the public. He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to the PML-N, asserting his commitment as a loyal party member.

Notable figures from the region, including former Vice Chairman of TMA Attock Malik Tahir Awan, former Opposition Leader of TMA Haji Akram Khan, former Councilor of the Cantonment Board Malik Shehzad, former councilors Babu Lala, Saleem Cheema, and Mohammad Nazeer, were also present at the news conference.

During this gathering, PML-N’s potential candidate for the provincial assembly seat, Malik Tahir Awan, voluntarily withdrew from the election race. Former Opposition Leader Haji Akram announced his full and unconditional support for PML-N leader Malik Iftikhar Awan and pledged to personally lead his election campaign.

In a show of unity and solidarity, Malik Iftikhar Awan, Haji Akram, Malik Tahir Awan, and their colleagues expressed confidence that the upcoming election would mark a historic victory for their group and the Pakistan Muslim League (N), securing the PP-3 provincial seat.
