ISLAMABAD- A sessions court in the federal capital on Wednesday issued a non-bailable warrant for the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill in connection with a sedition case.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra passed the orders while hearing the case against the PTI leader.
The judge also reached a pivotal point in the trial against the co-accused Imad Yousaf officially concluding the proceedings against him. The judge remarked that the top court had provided specific directives to finalize the trial against Imad Yousaf.
The judge also emphasized that the legal proceedings would persist until Shahbaz Gill is apprehended and brought before the court.
The court re-issued the non-bailable arrest warrants for Shahbaz Gill.
“whenever Gill is located and taken into custody, he will be promptly presented before the court to face the charges against him,” directed the court.
It may be mentioned here that Shahbaz Gill is in the United States these days where he teaches at a local university and advocates for his party on the digital platform.
