A low pressure that had developed over the Arabian Sea a few days ago has intensified and transformed into a cyclone, said the fourth alert issued by the Met Office on Sunday.
The cyclone, named Tej by India, which presently lies 1, 880 kilometers south-west of Karachi and 1, 670 kilometers south of Gwadar, however, poses no threat to Pakistan’s coastal areas as it is moving in the north-westerly direction towards the coastal belt of Yemen and Oman. It presently lies 750 kilometers south-west of Salala in Oman. The alert said that the storm would intensify in the next 24 hours.
