ETPB approves scholarships for 1000 minority students

The 353rd meeting of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) was held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Chairman Board Dr. Syed Atta-ur-Rahman, in which Hindu, Sikhs and official and non-official members from all over the country, besides Secretary Board Sanaullah Khan, participated.

The meeting approved increase in the number of students from 110 to 1,000, who will be paid Rs 10,000 per month scholarship. It will help children of minority communities to get higher education, the meeting was told. Five more religious places under control of the ETPB board were added to the list for promotion of virtual tour. These places include Kartarpur, Hasan Abdal, Katas Raj, Nankana Sahib, and Sadhu Bela Mandir.

Along with development initiatives in Kartarpur, the present condition of historical Janki Devi Hospital in Lahore was also updated with the needs of the modern era. Instructions for improvement were given accordingly, arrangements for Baba Guru Nanaks birthday celebrations were approved, while board employees were also approved for promotion and upgradation, grade 9 to 11 for LDC, 11 to 13 for UDC, 14 to 16 for computer operator, and 12 to 14 KPOs Naib Tehsildar and others have been approved to promote and upgrade the historic Dayal Singh Trust Library and instructions have been given to take steps to modernise it.
