Punjab govt increases travelling, daily allowances

The Punjab Government has increased the travelling and daily allowances of government employees and officers of the province.

The finance ministry gave approval to the notification as per it, the daily allowance of employees from grade 1 to 4 has been increased from Rs800 to Rs1200; daily allowance of employees from grade 5 to 11 has been increased from Rs880 to Rs1320; and daily allowance of employees from 12 to 16 has been increased from Rs1440 to Rs2160.

Moreover, allowance for the grade 22 officers would be increased from Rs4800 to Rs7200, followed by an increase from Rs4000 to Rs6000 for grade 21 officers, an increase from Rs3280 to Rs4920 for officers in 19 and 20 grade and increase from Rs2560 to Rs3840 for 17 and 18 grade officers. As per the notification, the travelling allowance has been increased from Rs5 to Rs7.5 per Km in case public transport while in case of using personal vehicles, officers and employees would get Rs15 per Km instead of previous Rs10.
