Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken notice of the incident of killing of 03 people due to long-standing enmity in Nowshera Virkan area of Gujranwala and has sought the report from RPO Gujranwala.
IG Punjab ordered to CPO Gujranwala to form a special team to arrest the culprits. He directed to take immediate action to arrest the accused as soon as possible and punished. IG Punjab directed that the supervisory officers should keep close contact with the victim’s family and justice should be ensured on priority basis.
Moreover, on the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a meeting of the Welfare Management Committee was held at the Central Police Office, in which the more than 8.5 lakh rupees were approved for the health welfare of police employees and their families. According to the details, the committee led by Additional IG Welfare Mohammad Riaz Nazir Gara, after carefully reviewing the cases sent from various districts including Lahore, directed to pay the medical expenses of the officials and their families. According to the details, head constable Javed Anwar, who suffered from paralysis, was given 03 lakh 50 thousand rupees for the purchase of an electric bed and mattress. Langri Abbas Ali of Lahore Police was given Rs. 01 lakh for brain tumour and eye disease. Head Constable Naveed Qamar was given Rs.01 lakh 12 thousand 400 for hearing treatment whereas Head Constable Muhammad Wasim of Vehari police was given Rs.02 lakh 02 hundred for the battery of hearing device. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Muhammad Riaz Nazir Gara had sent the above mentioned cases to IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for approval, upon which IG Punjab approved the release of funds. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered to continue the measures for the health welfare of the police force and their families and said that more steps should be taken for the treatment of the constables and their families .
