Withdraw protocol from former cabinet members: ECP

Former government officials and cabinet members still availing official protocol, the ECP said in a letter addressed to Sindh’s Chief Secretary and IG Police. In letter the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had directed Sindh officials to withdraw the protocol from former government officialsimmediately.The ECP has urged the chief secretary and police chief to send compliance report of the order within three days.

The election commission had earlier on August 15 delivered a letter to Sindh’s authorities for withdrawal of official protocol from former cabinet members and government officials.

The election commission had earlier approved the transfer of secretaries, commissioners and deputy commissioners in Sindh and replaced them with the officers suggested by the caretaker Sindh government. The ECP in September okayed a major reshuffle in the Sindh police department on the request of the provincial caretaker government and Grade-21 officer KhadimHussian Rind was appointed as the new police chief of Karachi, while Syed AsadRaza was posted as DIG South Zone Karachi.
