IN a horrifying display of brutality and disregard for the sanctity of life, terrorists launched two separate attacks on the sacred and blessed day of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW). These heinous acts, which took place in Balochistan’s Mastung district and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu, left the entire nation in mourning and shock. The terrorists targeted innocent Muslims who were commemorating the birthday of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), reflecting a cruel and un-Islamic mindset that seeks to disrupt peace and sow discord.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW), is marked by expressions of joy, unity and reverence for the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). It is a day of spreading love and peace. However, khawariji terrorists, driven by their malicious agenda, chose to turn this day of happiness and pride into one of sorrow and despair. The perpetrators of these attacks have not only shown a complete disregard for human life but also hurt the image of Islam, a religion that promotes peace, tolerance and compassion. The objectives behind these attacks appear to be multi-fold: By targeting the peaceful and moderate school of thought, particularly the Barelvis, these terrorists aimed to incite sectarian violence, creating divisions where none should exist. Such acts also seek to add a religious and sectarian dimension to violence in Balochistan. By perpetrating violence in the strategically located province, the terrorists, undoubtedly supported and funded by our enemies aim to reduce Chinese trust and confidence in the security environment of Balochistan. The acts of these khawariji terrorists are nothing short of “Fisad Fil Ard,”. They are a curse upon humanity, taking part in abhorrent actions that are incompatible with the principles of Islam. It is essential to understand that these acts are far from being representative of the faith. No true Muslim can contemplate attacking a mosque, a religious gathering, or choosing a sacred day for violence. These terrorists, acting as proxies, are the enemies of Islam and its peaceful teachings. In these challenging times, it is imperative for us to unite while keeping our petty differences aside. Through whole of the nation approach we have to take these terrorists to task. The violence perpetrated on Friday must be thoroughly investigated and those behind them must be nabbed and given exemplary punishment.
