Rich tributes were paid to the veterans of the Pakistan army, police and the security forces who laid down their lives and made great sacrifices for the security and prosperity of the country.
At a family festival held at the Pakistan Sports Complex, shields and gifts were presented to the families of the martyrs and veterans and they were assured all out support and help in meeting challenges of their lives.
IGP Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, ICCI President AhsanZafarBakhtawari,
ChNazir, SardarTahir, RanaArsalan, Rashid Ilyas and the business community of the twin cities saluted the brave soldiers of the army, the police and the law-enforcement agencies that rendered great sacrifices for the protection and safety of the country. Addressing the ceremony, President Islamabad Developers Association SardarYasirIlyas Khan said it is because of their sacrifices, no power in the world can see Pakistan with an evil eye.
“We salute the unprecedented sacrifices by our law-enforcement agencies for the prosperity and development of the country,” he said. He particularly mentioned the role of the Islamabad police in maintaining law and order in the federal capital.
He further said that the business community was the backbone of Pakistan and business-related activities flourish only in a secure environment. We appreciate the army chief’s efforts to boost the business community and especially exports and assure that we are with him, said SardarYasir Ilyas Khan.
While addressing the participants on this occasion, ICCI President AhsanZafarBakhtawari said organizing such activities to highlight the positive side of the country was a welcome step and they would try to continue such series in future.
In the ceremony, IGP Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan and SardarYasirIlyas Khan awarded honorary shields to the sponsors for organizing the mega event.
Prominent music icons of the country RahatFateh Ali Khan and Aima Beg gave a captivating performance on the occasion and enthralled the audience.
