14 die, 1,253 injured in road accidents

At least 14 persons were killed and 1,253 others injured in 1,202 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 651 people with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, while 602 victims with minor injuries were treated at the site by rescue medical teams thus reducing the burden of hospitals.

Furthermore, the analysis showed that 598 drivers, 42 underage drivers, 167 pedestrians, and 502 passengers were among the victims of the crashes.

The statistics show that 289 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 292 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 85 in Faisalabad with 85 victims and Multan with 67 accidents and 68 victims.
According to the data 1023 motorbikes, 76 rickshaws, 108 cars, 28 vans, six passenger buses, 29 trucks and 129 other types of vehicles and carts were involved in the accidents.
