IIUI’s first semester student translates two books

A female student from the Department of Translation & Interpretation, Faculty of Arabic, International Islamic University, Islamabad has been able to translate two books from Arabic into English during these summer vacations. These translations have been carried out by Miss Asia Arif (18-year) who is a student of the first semester of BS in Translation & Interpretation in this university. Her first book is titled “A Lad from Quraysh” which is written by an Egyptian scholar Syed Mubarak while the second book contains the English translation of two hundred Arabic proverbs and maxims and titled “Everlasting Wisdom”.

Gold medalist Asia Arif had already authored and translated five other books in Arabic, English, Urdu and Persian during the previous years. A book of her titled “Alarabiyya li kullilAtfal” was published in 2016 in the Sultanate of Oman by an educational institution Al-Isary Group and Asia had been specially invited along with her parents to Oman to inaugurate this book.
