Caretaker Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi has commended the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) for its significant contributions to society and applauded the efforts of administration in implementing impactful reforms.
He was speaking as chief guest of dinner reception held in honour of newly appointed Rector IIUI, Dr Samina Malik. The event hosted by President IIUI Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi was also attended by Vice Presidents, Deans, DGs and Directors of university.
Addressing the participants, Madad Ali Sindhi emphasizing the importance of research and conferences focused on the attributes of the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH), encouraged universities to disseminate this knowledge. He also proposed collaboration between Vice Chancellors to discuss and exchange experiences on IIU’s strategic plan to enhance academic excellence and infrastructure development, promising full support. Dr. Hathal paid tribute to the services of Dr. Samina Malik as Vice President and said that now her appointment as Rector was a positive development as she has prudent approach with best leadership abilities. He said Dr. Samina Malik was the first female and faculty member who has achieved the post of Rector, therefore her appointment was a historic development as well as a source of encouragement for the academicians’ community.
The IIUI President said the university was all set to embark on a new journey of success as it has made its mentionable place in the international rankings across the world. He added that now the next target was to be among the top 500 universities across the world on highest internal ranking forums. The IIU President also apprised of the vision of the university adding that the focus will be on producing the skilled youth well equipped with advanced requirements of the era.
He also discussed the initiatives of digitization, ODL and academic excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samina Malik thanked the honorable Minister and the IIU administration for the reception and kind words.
