3 cos to start online fruits, vegetables supply service

The city administration has given permission to three private companies to start online home delivery service for vegetables and fruits at rates fixed by the Market Committee.
Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani has issued the permission to these companies to start their services.
A meeting held under chairmanship of the Commissioner at his office reviewed the arrangements made to start home delivery service. The meeting was attended among others by the Additional Commissioner Karachi-I Asad Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioners of District east and district south, senior officials of Market Committee and Bureau of Supply. The representatives of the private companies starting this service with the support of city administration. representatives of DK Martand Asiatelco were also present in the meeting.
The companies starting the service made detailed presentation to the commissioner . The commissioner asked the suppliers to ensure that they the fruits and vegetables are charged government rates fixed and also ensure that the quality of the fruits and vegetables are maintained. Commissioner directed the Market Committee and the district administrations to extend all possible support to the companies as it would help the city administration make the price control effective. The meeting decided that the Market Committee would ensure that the service providers are able to get the vegetables and fruits on auction rates while the district administration would provide all possible support in the arrangement being made by the traders.
The meeting was briefed that the M/s DK Mart has made arrangements to start services from the 21st of February through which residents of the district east will be be benefited while M/s Asiatelco will be starting its services from the end of the month. Asia telco would provide services to the residents of the district south.
