Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday expressed distrust in the Sindh election commissioner and demanded that he should be changed. “Elections are not contested in the province. They are bought,” MQM Senior Deputy Convener Mustafa Kamal said while addressing a press conference at Pakistan House in Karachi.
“The country was made go to the dogs through RTS in the elections of 2018. Provincial Election Commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Chauhan should be transferred immediately,” he demanded.“There should not be any delay in general elections. We want the elections to be held according to new constituencies,” he added.
Mustafa Kamal also lambasted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying that he befooled people in the name of Riyasat-e-Madinah.
“His lawyer is Salman Rushdie’s lawyer,” he added. “We will condemn every attempt made to harm democracy under the guise of controversial decisions,” the MQM leaders warned the government. “The Sindh caretaker chief minister should play his role in conducting transparent elections,” they demanded.
