ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been arrested in Islamabad, as authorities widened the probe in cypher case.
Initial reports suggest that close aide of Imran Khan was arrested by FIA in Islamabad and was being moved to FIA headquarters, soon after he interacted with foreign ambassadors.
The senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) earlier appeared before FIA led JIT that is probing into an alleged manipulation of cipher during the PTI government.
The PTI’s vice chairman, who served as Pakistan’s foreign minister, was grilled for multiple times as officials are is carrying out high level probe on the direction of the federal cabinet which alleges that PTI chief and his aides prejudiced the national security and interest of the state by directly revealing a classified diplomatic cipher without proper authorization.
