Arts council of Pakistan Karachi organized two day “Azadi festival”on the occasion of 76th independence day at Jaun Elia Lawn. On the first day Azadi Festival was started with international recital (Almi Mushaira) in which poets from all over the world, including Pakistan, recited poetry. Mushaira was presided over by the well-known poet Anwar Shaoor, while the duties of moderator were performed by Ambreen Haseeb Ambar.
Speaking on this occasion, President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that today in Azadi Festival, poets from all over the world are reciting their words and expressing their feelings with their country. Pakistani nation is divided into pieces, August 14 is a day when more than 25 crore people of Pakistan celebrate it in a grand way and send a message of unity to the whole world.
All these struggles and aspirations are our own, but if such a time ever comes to Pakistan, we all stand on one platform in our own way. Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi has maintained its tradition this year like every year, today we are all gathered under one flag. He said that the services of the media are commendable through which the message of peace and love goes to the whole world.Poetess Ambreen Haseeb Amber said that
It is the specialty of the Arts Council that poets of every language and every religion can present their poetry, which increases our enthusiasm every year. Foreign poets Ikram Basit Jalili, Ashfaq Hussain and Ghazanfar Hashmi participated online in the Azadi Festival. Anwar Shaoor, Farast Rizvi, Wasi Shah, Tariq Sabzwari, Ajmal Siraj, Abbas Tabish, Saber Zafar, Hamida Shaheen, Ahmed Attaullah, Ambreen Haseeb Ambar, Shakeel Jazib, Aqeel Abbas Jafari, Rehman Faris, Iqbal Pirzada and others, Naeem Sameer, Nasira Zuberi. ,
